  6. Color problems:
  7. ===============
  8. Please note that Safari Saver requires 16-bit
  9. color for optimal display. This means your system
  10. colors should be set to GREATER THAN 256 colors.
  11. On some systems using only 256 colors, you may get
  12. strange washed-out colors. Both the background and 
  13. the animals should look picture perfect, since they
  14. come directly from photos. If they don't look perfect,
  15. set your system colors to a higher level.

  18. Registration:

  20. There are 2 different registration options.
  21. The first is for $29, which includes the
  22. full version of Safari with no shareware
  23. signs.

  55. Installation:
  56. ---------------
  57. To install Safari, unzip the file you 
  58. downloaded. Then run the SETUP.EXE program. 
  59. Follow the on-screen prompts.
  60. This will load the program onto
  61. your system.

  64. Configuring Screen Saver:
  65. ==========================
  66. (Windows 3.1)
  67. To use the screen saver, double-click 
  68. CONTROL PANEL, usually in the MAIN group 
  69. on your desktop. When CONTROL PANEL opens, 
  70. double-click on DESKTOP to go into the 
  71. desktop configuration screen. About halfway 
  72. down the window, select the Screen Saver Name 
  73. drop-down box. You should find Safari in the 
  74. list. Select it. Now click on the SETUP button. 
  75. In the screen saver setup, you can adjust the
  76. settings to your preferences. Click REGISTRATION
  77. INFO button to find out about registering this
  78. shareware version of Venice. 
  79. Click EXIT and try the TEST button.

  82. Right-click the desktop to bring up the 
  83. display panel, or click the START button and
  84. choose Settings/Control Panel; from there you 
  85. can choose DISPLAY. With the Display Panel open,
  86. click on the Screen Saver Tab. Select Safari
  87. from the drop down list of screen savers, and click
  88. Settings to setup, and Preview to test it.

  97. You are granted a license to use Safari
  98. for a period of up to 30 days. After
  99. that time, you are required to purchase the
  100. product(s) through registration or else 
  101. discontinue its use.

  104. software and distribute it to your friends 
  105. and co-workers, on electronic bulletin
  106. boards, over networks, and so on, as long 
  107. as the product is not distributed for
  108. profit (handling fees up to $5.00 ok).
  109. Inclusion on shareware CD-ROMs is also allowed
  110. as long as the CD clearly explains the 
  111. shareware concept. 
  112. If you distribute this software, you agree 
  113. to distribute this installation executable 
  114. which contains the associated files together 
  115. as a group. You are not allowed to bundle 
  116. this software with other commercial products 
  117. (shareware collections OK) without prior written 
  118. permission from Galt Technology.

  122. As licensee, you own the media upon which 
  123. the software is recorded or distributed and 
  124. are entitled to use the software, but Galt 
  125. Technology retains title and ownership of

  128. any copy. You are not allowed to make any 
  129. modifications to, or to create derivative 
  130. works from any of the files that are used 
  131. in this software. This includes all the 
  132. executable, help, installation, and readme 
  133. files, as well as video files.
